Authentic: Movers Program

Create ~ Collaborate ~ Connect

The Authentic: Movers Program supports and nurtures emerging artists, especially those looking for professional performance experiences and artistic growth. Dancers work alongside AG’s professional company in a collaborative and supportive setting, gaining insight into pursing a professional dance career while discovering their own unique artistic voice. The program includes valuable stage experience and exposure to the dance community all while remaining independent of any studio, school, or company affiliation.

The program is open to movers ages 13 and up. The Authentic: Movers Program provides the flexibility and freedom to pursue dance in a way that aligns with individual goals and availability.

Auditions for the program are held once a year. This allows us to work with them in preparation for our annual production of Collections.

Performance Opportunities

Authentic: Movers have the chance to perform alongside the AG company as guest performers in our annual production of Collections. Additional project-based and community events are offered throughout the year, including site-specific performances and local showcases.

All performance opportunities are voluntary, allowing dancers to participate in inspiring opportunities. Time commitments are unique to each project and will be communicated prior to the start of each project.

Community Involvement

Authentic: Grooves believes dance should be accessible and inclusive. The Authentic: Movers contribute to our mission by participating in performances that bring dance to unusual and unexpected community-focused spaces—including full evening performances, festivals, and educational events.

The Authentic: Movers Program offers an exciting, community-centered path for dancers to expand their artistry, connect with others, and find their voice within the broad dance community. We look forward to moving with you
